This educational game has been developed for the Dutch spoken Belgian youth station Ketnet and requires a broadband connection. It can only be played in Belgium and is sold at a low-budget price, only the distribution costs are charged. All Belgian public libraries have received a copy for free rentals.
This game, aimed at children aged 6 to 12, is a PC2TV product, with an interactive link between the game and a daily TV show. KetnetKick provides a virtual world where children can compose music, create dance choreographies, make drawings and manipulate the environment by visiting creative studios. The game element is provided by WRAPtors (named after the hosts of the station, wrappers) that show up to sabotage the world. The creations are shown and discussed in a daily TV program on weekdays.
New features are to be added through obligatory updates: a 2D-startermachine to launch KetnetKick and KetnetTV and a film studios to make your own films. In the end, it intends to become a full multimedia portal through which children can exchange various Ketnet related creations. Additionally, you can continue playing on any PC that has the game installed. It comes with a full file management and communication system and the profiles along with all the creations are stored on the online server.
Later the game was adapted for the British market as Adventure Rock.
