World Dance is a small "edutainment" game where you have to guide a dancer around the game board to collect various cultural items. Each of the 7 levels/dance floors (Egypt, France, Senegal, Hawaii, China, Mexico and Ireland) has its own unique dancer, music, and cultural items. To gather the items, the player directs the dancer around the isometric dance floor using a set of isometric-friendly dance moves to run over gift boxes that are scattered around the dance floor. When the dancer hits a gift box, cultural items as well as bonus items like time-extension and extra lives fly out onto the floor to collect. But moving the dancer around the board is not as easy as it may seem. Colliding with obstacles and walls will reduce the number of "lives" the dancer has and when they run out the game is over. Once all of the items are collected, the player goes to the "World Journal" where they can learn more about the culture by reading about the items the dancer just collected. The ultimate goal is to "unlock" all 7 countries in the journal to get access to a veritable encyclopedia of cultural information. The main selling point for the game is the fact that it uses over 80 different motion-captured dance moves that kids just love to watch. Combine the great dancing with the novel concept and the result is a great kids game.
