CivCity: Rome is a city-building game based on Sid Meier's Civilization and developed in collaboration with Firaxis Games. Players must build and nurture a wide variety of Roman settlements by completing missions, like growing a certain number of a material or building a certain number of temples to the Roman gods. Other buildings available include houses, farms, water systems, amphitheatres, coliseums and a circus maximus for chariot racing, which are vital for keeping your citizens' moral up. As well as building up the city in this way, the player will also face enemies attempting to conquer your settlement, and so raising and commanding an army is a key area of the game.
As well as the main mission-based game, players can also take on a more scenario-based mode where they could, for example, be charged with defending their city from an enemy attack straight away.
Other features include the ability to look inside houses to see a Roman family go about their daily life, over 70 technologies to research (for example, tool making), a Civilopedia full of information on the Roman empire, and a powerful scenario editor.
