Pax Solaris is a strategy game set in space. On a overhead stellar map the player sees a lot of stars - and the goal is to conquer them all. Some stars are connected with lines which means that ships can travel between this stars. Basically all the player has to do is to tell his ships where to move next respectively what to attack next. More precisely the movement orders aren't issued to the individual ships but to the stars itself. The player simply has to drag a line between the stars and every ship that passes it automatically goes in its direction until the order is cancelled.

Every star produces new ships at a steady rate and a big art of the game is to figure out where to move them. The game is basically in real-time but in the single player mode there is a pause button. The fights are calculated automatically.

The hot seat multiplayer mode is special because is is a mixture between real-time and turn-based. The game itself is still in real-time but the players alternate. This means every player has a certain time frame where he can change his commands; then the the next one and so on. The AI takes over for all player who are not playing at the moment and tries to act accordingly to there past orders. [source:mobygames]
