Spore: Galactic Adventures is the first real add-on to Spore and focuses solely on the space phase of the game by adding role-playing elements to it. Was the captain of the player's ship previously an invisible entity without a name or anything, he now gets an individual name and can increase in rank by completing adventures either started separately or within the space phase. This on the other hand grants the captain an additional skill point allowing him to get new abilities or upgrade existing ones.
As everything else in the game, the missions are created by the players with only a handful already included in the game. These range from races to fight for your life, attack- and defend to more riddle-focused ones and show a small glimpse into what can be done with the editor. The editor itself allows the player to change everything from the surface of a planet, how the AI-controlled creatures shall react to the presence of the player to the text in the new creature dialogues and what kind of objectives need to be completed. The missions then play like the creature phase with the player controlling his captain from a 3rd-person-view over the planet but feature more possibilities thanks to high-energy weapons, jet packs and such. Also available are power-ups that refill the captains health and energy or make him faster for a short period of time.
Once an adventure is finished creating, it can be traded with other players over the Sporepedia and in addition every adventure features a high score listing. It shows how fast the player managed to complete the mission and lets him compare their score with everyone in the world.
