A Day At Work A Day at Work is a top-down, small town simulator wherein the player takes control of Tom, a dutiful employee at Office Inc. Lacking any semblance of either plot or objectives the player either has a typical day at work, typing up report upon report about nothing in particular, or becomes a homicidal maniac, rampaging the town killing everyone in sight.

If the player chooses to follow a path of wanton destruction there are several weapons and items, such as an AK-47 or bullet proof vest, hidden throughout the town to assist the player in his mayhem. One has to be careful, however, as the local police won't appreciate such senseless acts against the local populace. The option also exists to purloin various cars to facilitate movement from place to place, though they're oddly restricted to going either 0 or 50 miles per hour, not in between, often leading to a quick and painful end either for Tom or various hapless pedestrians.

While both the game and its manual stress the player's choice as to which of the two courses of action to follow, it is largely illusory, as there is very little actual game to be found once the violence is stripped away. [source:mobygames]
