Alien abductions really do happen, but they aren't interested in studying our physique. Rather, they use them instead of clones dressed in red shirts to carry out simple, but fatal missions. You are one such human.

Having survived your "redshirt" mission, you are placed in the helm of the small trading spaceship that kidnapped you, instead of the disappeared captain. It is your job to use your strange and semi-competent crew to search for the lost crew member, while trying your best to stay alive. To do this you must evade hostile pirates (or snoopy policemen), fight space monsters, purchase upgrades for your space vessel, and "recruit" additional redshirts to visit hostile worlds and collect clues about the mysteries of the cosmos itself.

This is an indie adventure game, created by Ben Croshaw on the AGS engine. It is his first game to feature non-adventure elements, such as space combat, trading and ship upgrades. Despite these new mechanics the game is mainly an adventure game, where item collection and conversation are key.

Unlike the Chzo mythos games, Adventures In The Galaxy Of Fantabulous Wonderment is filled with light humor as well as references to Ben Croshaw's Rob Blanc series and his "Yahtzee Takes On The World" comic. [source:mobygames]
