Air Pressure is a short visual novel that tells a story through text and pictures, with a few moments where the player can steer the conversation to alter the outcome. It is told from the perspective of a man and most of the game deals with the relationship with his girlfriend Leigh. They met as teenagers but after several years the man is no longer sure how he feels about having her around anymore. He needs to make a decision about how he sees his future life. Based on the player's decisions three different outcomes can eventually be reached.
Although the game appears to lean towards the romances and dating simulation mechanics the visual novel genre is especially known for, gradually and especially after multiple playthroughs the player is given cues in the text and images by which the whole story can be interpreted as a metaphor for something wholly different. Through this, the initially straightforward story is given a whole level of depth, with plenty of room for interpretation.
