Ally 2: Ben Franklin Adventure is the second 'Ally' adventure game from Pharos Games. This is an educational game based on the life of Benjamin Frankin.
Ally has fallen asleep again, this time in history class, and she dreams about Benjamin Franklin who is the subject of the lesson. In her dream she wakes up in school with a strange book in her possession. In the book is a pack of card representing Benjamin Franklin's thirteen virtues (chastity, cleanliness, frugality, humility, industry, justice, moderation, order, resolution, silence, sincerity, temperance and tranquillity for those who need reminding.)
The game starts with a puzzle based on Benjamin's thirteen virtues, apparently Benjamin Franklin liked games and used them to educate himself. The object of this puzzle is to arrange three sets of cards in numerical order. The fewer card moves and re-deals the player makes the higher their score.
When the puzzle has been solved Benjamin asks the player to talk to a person in one of the critical years of his life. The player accesses the relevant year via one of the tabbed entries in Ally's book. In the scene they can look at items in the picture, read the relevant part of Franklin's biography, and talk to the key character. The dialogue is scripted and after a clicking through a few screens the player is presented wih a set of questions which have multiple choice answers. The player can replay the scene, asking the same question repeatedly, until the give the correct answer, however this does affect their score.
Having answered the question the player is returned to the card puzzle which must be solved before another task / question is set. There are fifty-five levels in the full game.
The game is entirely mouse controlled. There is some music in parts of the game which can be disabled if required.
