Angeln 2010 is a simulation of the fishing sport. The first step is to choose one of the 60 locations, each with one background photo. The player is not allowed to move his boat, just his fishing rod. To help him in this decision he has a radar to his disposal which shows good positions. After that the player has to wait until something bites. By rapidly clicking the right mouse button he pulls it in - the resistance depends on the size of the fish. But if he clicks too fast the tension gets too high and the string breaks. With a left click he releases more string which also breaks the tension.
Depending on the location, the bate and the time of day (can be switched instantly) the player may catch other kinds of fishes. Every fish gives points which are reinvested into new fishing gear, e.g. bait. Every 200 points a new locations gets unlocked. Special catches are old boots and other useless items or silver and golden fished. The latter are rare and reward much points. While waiting for a fish the player can minimize the game and the game sends a message if something has bitten.
