Animate TetBlox Animate TetBlox is a shareware Tetris variant that contains five different variations of the game for single player or two-player competitive play. The backdrop skins are still shots of nature scenes with the addition of animated birds, butterflies and a moving sky plus sounds of singing birds and music in the background.

The three difficulty levels (easy, normal, hard) influence the number of points gained. Other customizations include keyboard control keys, full or windowed view, background skins, a large number of tile sets, and the amount/speed of the animations.

Three games operate the same as the original Tetris: Light (simple block shapes), Classic (traditional) and Pentix (more elaborately shaped blocks). Groups of blocks fall from the top one at a time and can be rotated and then dropped. This starts out slowly and increases in quickness as the game progresses. Entire rows must be filled with blocks completely, with no blank spaces, to be cleared from the playing field.

Color Tetris and Horizontal Color Tetris are deviations away from the standard game. These two have only one shape, a vertical or horizontal rectangle block with three icon tiles inside it. Rotating simply mixes up the icons in the box. Matching three or more alike icons, vertically, horizontally or diagonally, will result in clearing them.

The game ends when any block reaches the top of the screen. Bonus icons appear randomly for a limited time and must be passed over with a falling block. One adds points while others destroy chunks of blocks or all blocks on the current screen.

Multiplayer games are not played on the internet. They appear on the same screen but with separate controls for the two players. The default keyboard configuration makes it possible for two people to play using the same keyboard, if desired, at the same time.

Three multiplayer game modes are provided:Cooperative: Two players work together on the same puzzle board. Combat: The first player to complete the final level is the winner.Race: Speed-based with no levels. The first player to end the game is the loser. Speed for each player is indicated on their screen. Clearing blocks slows down that player's speed while increasing it for the opponent.Animate TetBlox can be controlled using a joystick or keyboard, with mouse support for menu navigation. Games can be paused, and high scores are recorded on separate tables each game type. Registered players can submit their high scores to an Internet High Scores Table. [source:mobygames]
