Assteroidz: Diamond Dave Edition is a flash remake of the original Asteroids.

In this rendition of the classic game, you play as "Diamond Dave" himself, David Lee Roth as he floats around the screen, shooting at asteroids shaped like Eddie Van Halen's face, the anthropomorphic burger from the movie Better Off Dead, or the Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen logo.

Gameplay is for the most part, the same as the classic Asteroids: You control David Lee Roth by pressing the left or right arrow keys, and pressing the up arrow to go forward, using your momentum to propel yourself and shoot at the asteroids. You can also use a Hyperspace move by pressing the Shift key, which teleports you to a random point in the screen - sometimes in the way of incoming asteroids.

You attack these asteroids by shooting at them using the Space key. A damaged asteroid will break in two parts, and will continue to do so until there are no more pieces to break. Asteroids will destroy you if you crash into them, so avoid them.

Also, a disembodied Sammy Hagar head plays the part of the Spaceship from the original game; the head will occasionally show up on screen and fire at you. You can destroy it just like any normal asteroid.
