In Attack!, ironically the player is on the defense. The player must fend of an attack as the sole defender of a treasure inside a castle. The alarm system of the treasure will auto-destruct the treasure after the inner vault security has been breached thrice. So it's up to the player to thwart the waves of attackers and make sure that does not happen.
The player can move around in the castle and fire his or her weapon, both in eight directions. The attackers will tear down walls to make it easier for future waves, but the player has the option to rebuild walls as long as they are not completely destroyed. The player can try to find time for this in between attacking waves.
If an enemy comes face to face with the player he will sacrifice himself and two new attackers will join the attack in its stead.
