Baboon Torture Division video game Late one night over at Absurd Research Labs, heroic rockstar scientist Steve Biloba and his equally brilliant evil twin Wasteve Waloba debate over a proper use for the newly-devised "brain machine", an apparatus capable of controlling the minds and thoughts of primitive simians. While Steve's suggestions are benign, Wasteve employs the machine to raise a sinister army of monkeys to do his nefarious bidding. The player controls Steve in an attempt to confront Wasteve and overturn his no-good plan.

What this amounts to is a by-the-books homebrew amateur platform game, proudly showing its garish retro sensibilities. With a handful of enemy types (who explode dramatically upon death), bouncy springs to jump upon, occasional environmental hazards and a whole lot of running, jumping, and shooting full-auto bursts from the single firepower type, the video game medium is co-opted in the interested of helping to construct a mythology around the Baboon Torture Division, one of the West Coast's most peculiar art-rock puppet performance ensembles, now here joining such absurd musical luminaries as Devo, the Residents and Michael Jackson as the subjects of their own video games.

While the basic game mechanics are quite restrictive in the classical style (shoot your way to each level's end zone, marked by red spheres) it does enjoy imaginative inter-level boss fights mini-games, wearing a plethora of influences casually on its sleeves, such as Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., and in the exciting closing sequence, both Pong and Mortal Kombat.
