Bad Dreams is perhaps the first horror-themed Breakout clone. You bounce a ball using a paddle and try to smash all the bricks on screen, picking up good powerups and avoiding the bad ones that fall from exploded bricks. Like most of InFluid Software's games, it puts an ultra-violent twist to classic arcade action, with weird and disturbing hand-drawn backgrounds rendered in 32-bit, numerous enemies that you can splatter for bonus points, and a pervasive B-movie horror atmosphere. It contains 150 individually designed levels.
