Game Classification

Northern Strike is the first booster pack for Battlefield 2142 and adds three new maps to the game. These are set in various parts of Germany which lies deep inside the already frozen zones of Earth. The EU and PAC fight over the control of Leipzig, the bridge of Remagen and the Alps.

These maps can be played in the already known Conquest and Titan mode as well as in the new Directed Assault mode in which one team's base is only locked until all other flags have been taken by the opposing force. After that, they can attack and take the enemy main base.

For those fights the EU gets the new A3 Goliath, which is a slow mobile fortress, and the PAC has access to the small but speedy Hachimoto. There are also ten new unlocks (two for each class, one for the squad leader and one for the player) which include the TL-S1C CAMO UPGRADE for a better clock for the scout, a handy transmitter called IDS-1 "Infantry Sonar" that can be put on any surface to transmit the location of enemy units like the UAV does, and the SL-RPU which the squad leader can deploy to reduce the spawn time of his squad mates.

To complete the package, there are also 7 new awards (4 Ribbons, 2 Badges, 1 Pin) waiting to be earned. [source:mobygames]
