Before the Law is a short game based on a short story of the same name by the existentialist writer Franz Kafka, as a parable of how law is perceived by people. The game can be completed in two minutes and interaction is limited to movement. It is entirely made in black-and-white white vague outlines for the characters and the environment. The player controls a character who asks to gain entry into the law, but the entrance is guarded by a gatekeeper who says entry cannot be granted at the moment. Based on the player's decision, two different endings can be achieved. This is different from the original story where there was but one conclusion, but designed in the same spirit.
