Be Good is a short game about the life of Donald Martin in a series of vignettes. All characters and environments have been made out of clay, and were then photographed or filmed to provide animation. After an initial scene, the game promptly ends, showing the character in a wheelchair going through a dark environment. The game then asks the player if Donald Martin lived a good life, and then restarts the game, but now from the position of the baby and moving gradually through different stages of life. Each playthrough is slightly different because the scenes are selected from a larger pool. Interaction is minimal, as the player can usually only move around and act in situations by choosing a happy or a displeased face. Based on those decisions, the game moves on. All characters are designed with blank faces and conversations are shown through text near the bottom of the screen. The scenes range from family happenings to work-related events, meetings, and even romantic encounters.
