The Book of Wanderer: The Story of Dragons is a match three game. To make a match, you use your mouse to slide the rows (horizontal) or columns (vertical) of eggs until you get three of the same color in a group, not necessarily in a straight line. These will then disappear with the other eggs dropping down to fill the space. As you play, negative magical energy is built up. At times, it will release and affect the eggs. This can be petrifying an egg so it cannot be matched to any other eggs, freezing an egg so the row and column it is on will not move and linking two eggs together so if, say, they are side by side, both columns will move. If so many hindrances build up that you can do nothing, you can release positive energy, if you have some built up, to undo some of these effects.
After you complete all the matching levels of your current land, you get the last level where you must put the pieces of a picture together. This will then color in and can be set as your computer's wallpaper, if you like. Next, you enter a bonus level. This will be a screen full of eggs and you just click any group of two or more eggs. The object is to clear out as many eggs as you can, preferable the whole screen. Then it is off to the next land. After the first land, you will be able to create magic eggs, if you match four or more together. These can include an egg that will destroy an entire row or one that destroys an entire column or one that destroys the eight eggs that surround it. Others will be able to match with any egg or bring out the magic properties of an egg. Still others will remove petrification, freezing or linking.
