Game Classification

A side-scrolling platformer set in The Badlands universe, it stars Cereus as the protagonist. He is a Peachy and when they sprout or come of age, they are given a mask made of the skull of a Kankerling and are sent on the trial of Ire. As such, Cereus needs to travel the bare plains of Golgotha and defeat anyone in his path.

The graphics style is similar to the other games set in the universe and there are many familiar enemies such as dumplings. Cereus needs to jump on top of enemies to defeat them (with a double jump available), but he can also roll or collect spikes to take them out. When these spikes are thrown into a wall, they can also be used as temporary platforms. He can also attack from the air by dashing down. Aside from defeating enemies, there are Shycons coins to collect, for which every 50 is awarded with a life. Rolling is also used to get through narrow passages.

Next to the main story mode with different stages, there are two challenge modes: Golgothan Gladiator (survival on a single screen) and Weltling Mountain Deathroll where Cereus needs to complete a course while staying on top of a rolling boulder. [source:mobygames]
