Cherokee Trails is an educational point and click adventure game aimed at teaching children about the 'Trail of Tears', the forced relocation of the native American peoples that occurred in the 1830's.
The game starts with Lynetta, an old Cherokee woman, telling the stories to a group of young people, how in 1838 soldiers forced them to walk 900 miles to a new home in Oklahoma and how one third of them did not survive the trip. She gives them a magic box which, next day, turns into a covered wagon.
The player takes the role of one of a group of eight young people following the 'Trail of Tears' in the the wagon. Each character takes the place of one of the men in Lynetta's story. Along the way there are scenes with ghosts from the past who explain what conditions were like, opportunities to fish and trade, wild animals and natural obstacles.
