Jill is a young female who dreams of running her own coffee shop. To pursue this dream she's moved to a new city and set up shop with the bare basics. With the player's help, Jill can become successful and make money from all customers.

Coffeehouse Chaos is a simulation game. The player takes control of Jill by clicking on the screen, who can then move around the screen performing various tasks. The player must wait for customers to arrive, seat them at the appropriate table, take their order, serve their coffee, collect the bill from them and clean the table for the next customers. These steps are accomplished by clicking on the appropriate areas of the screen. The steps must be done quickly, as customers will become angry if they're not given top priority.
