This is a law simulation game in which you take on the role of an Assistant District Attorney for the State of California.
The story: Tommy Wu has been murdered after a blow-up at a pool hall between two rival gangs. Was his death an accident .. or was it pre-meditated murder?
Police investigators have gathered enough evidence to make an arrest. Now it's time for you to do your job. Your goals: To prove that a crime has been committed and that the defendant being tried did commit the crime.
Your on-screen notebook computer provides everything you need. In the information-gathering portion, the maps allow you to travel to the police station to view witness statements and examine evidence, and then go to the crime lab where lab results you have ordered can be picked up. You can read similar legal case studies and study current legislation for help. The "Case Constructor" is a briefcase, of sorts, in which you will organize all pieces of the crime puzzle together to get ready for your day in court. Put all the components in the proper places and you'll win. Do it wrong and not only will a criminal go free, but you'll be taunted by the opposing council.
Features include real actors and actresses in movie quality video, point and click interface, and an original musical sound track.
This segment was released separately by Legacy Software and sold via their web site on 3 cd-rom discs. Later, it was combined with the other 2 cases and distributed to retail outlets as a bundle. Then in 2001, this case was re-released as a stand-alone product and renamed Pursuit of Justice.
