Darius Burst Darius Burst for PSP is the first new entry in the Darius-series since G-Darius (released in 2002). The plot is set in Darius year 1904. Belser has attacked Darius, which had been revived by immigrants from planet Vadis. The game is now in 3D although it's still a left-to-right scroll-shooter .

Darius Burst features a few elements new to the series: first of all, you don?t loose any weapon upgrades when you die. Second, there?s a 3-mode burst laser which is basically a revised version of the giant laser weapon featured in G-Darius. This time you don?t need to capture and sacrifice enemy units to use it and you may even absorb certain types of bullets with it.

There are 3 silverhawks: ?Legend? (the Darius Gaiden ship) piloted by two terminals referred as TI2 and two unlockables: ?Next? (a next generation model) piloted by Riga Practica and ?Origin? ship which is the original silverhawk, pilot unknown. Darius Burst is shorter than previous games in the series: there are 11 levels and 8 bosses total. The game features a number of unlockable trials ("Mission mode") and a ?Burst mode? which challenges the player to complete the game with a single life.

The soundtrack is composed by Zuntata, Taito?s in-house music band. [source:mobygames]
