Date Warp is a classical visual novel featuring a female character called Janet as your protagonist.
The story starts after you have just had your very (not really successful) first date with a fellow student, when on the way home his car suddenly breaks down in the middle of a large forest. Fortunately there seems to be a house nearby, so you decide to get there to ask for help. While the owner is friendly and even offers you to stay over night you soon realize that there is something strange about the house and it's residents...
As it's characteristic for visual novels the game's story is told using printed dialogue while showing a drawing of the current scene and the present protagonists. The story can be influenced by making decisions during key sequences in the game: To take a decision you play a small mini-game where you have to connect wires from a light bulb to your desired answer. Based on these decisions you do not only change your relation to the other inhabitants of the house and your boyfriend, but you also indirectly affect the ending of the game.
