Dear Agent is an action game with some thinking involved. It plays similarly to a typical platform game. As an agent, your job is to complete several missions, all of which involve killing all enemies (both humans that walk around randomly, and beasts that breathe fire when up close) and destroying all objects on a level, then getting to the teleporter.
The agent is armed with a laser, which can be used to kill enemies and destroy objects, but also to destroy walls. The laser has limited ammunition though (but refilling batteries can be found), so on certain levels it is necessary to formulate a strategy first. Bombs can also be found which explode to destroy enemies, objects and walls in a radius.
The levels have containers with red liquid in them. The liquid, when liberated, spills out and obeys gravity, flowing to lower levels. It destroys all enemies and objects it touches, and eats through dark-red walls.
If the agent falls off the bottom of the screen or comes in contact with the liquid or any enemies, he dies. A level can be restarted any number of times.
