Earth Vs Moon is an arcade shooter game that combines elements from Missile Command, Space Invaders and Galaxian.

In this game it is up to the player to defend the earth from the invading moon. This is done in traditional Missile Command style with three missile installations that can fire projectiles to destroy incoming bombs. The player determines where to fire by tapping on the screen. The missiles take a while to arrive, thus the player has to predict where the incoming bombs will be at the time of explosion.

Each bomb that reaches the Earth scorches part of its surface. The player is game over if the entire earth is scorched. But after each level the Earth resets again.

Aside from falling bombs also Space Invader-like alien ships will descend towards the earth in their typical zigzag pattern. Destroying one of them with your missiles often causes a chain reaction taking out quite a lot of them.

There are various boss levels in the game as well. In these levels other arcade games are mimicked such as Pong and Breakout.

The simple story is told through newspaper articles.

Aside from the story mode the game also features Boss Attack and Score Attack. The first is a time attack for all the boss levels. In the second the player has to get as much points as possible in a randomly generated level. [source:mobygames]
