Minha, the daughter of a rich South-American family in the early 20th century, is introduced to one of her brother's acquaintances, an army physician named Manuel Valdez. They quickly fall in love, and after receiving the blessings from Joam, Minha's father, they become engaged and the whole family decides to commemorate the upcoming marriage with a boat cruise along the Amazon River. The happy celebration is suddenly interrupted when Joam meets someone from his dark and secret past. The man is called Torres, and after meeting Minha he starts to blackmail Joam with criminal evidence that could put him in jail. Torres asks for Minha's hand in marriage in exchange for his silence. Minha is aware of all that is happening, and knows that she must do something to stop the evil plans and save her marriage.

Epic Adventures: La Jangada is a hidden object game based on the obscure book from 1881 by French novelist Jules Verne, where most of the time the objective is to find and click on all the items listed at the bottom of the screen, on locations filled with scattered objects. There's a hint button besides the list that shows the position of one of the required items, but takes some time to recharge after use. Some scenes have a gameplay variation, where the goal is to drag and drop scenery objects on top of each other to perform one of the tasks listed at the bottom. A few mini-games appear occasionally, where the player has to assemble a jigsaw puzzle with all the pieces of a torn letter, and complete other similar challenges. [source:mobygames]
