The PC version of FIFA Soccer 11 is based on the PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 version of FIFA Soccer 10. As usual the player controls his athletes directly and tries to be successful in single matches or leagues.
The most evident change to FIFA Soccer 10 is the first use of the next-gen graphics engine. But there are also various changes which directly affect the gameplay: at least when using a gamepad the former restriction to eight directions is gone. Also important are the new tactical variations and formations which can be changed during a match. The same goes for the editor which can be used to create individual tactics and directions for standard situations. Also inherited from former versions is the Virtual Pro mode which essentially is a career mode in which the player creates his own athlete. Then he accompanies the athlete through his soccer life and improves the abilities by fulfilling challenges.
Exclusive to the PC version is the LAN multiplayer mode.
