Flyout is a vertically-scrolling shoot-em-up written for the Shmup-Dev Autofire 2007 competition. The player controls a small ship flying up an endless tunnel. Enemies include little green guys who try to jump on top of your ship and make it harder to steer, and all kinds of alien, firing at you, doing suicide missions or dropping bombs. The path is often blocked by obstacles that can be destroyed. The ship can take multiple hits and restores its energy by collecting health icons. The distance is measured in the bottom left corner. For every kilometer, a stranded Dutch astronaut appears to provide you with up to 5 levels of weapon upgrades, transforming the basic weapon into laser beams and more. All weapons have an unlimited amount of ammo and there are two lives in total. [source:mobygames]
