This game starts when Grace heads off to Paris visiting her friend Chloe. They go to the Louvre, and trouble comes knocking: some thieves manage to break into the museum and steal the priceless Mona Lisa, but to make matters worse, they take Chloe hostage while doing it. A desperate Grace then joins forces with an Interpol agent in order to find her friend, and the adventure will take her across famous museums situated in some of the most recognizable euro-capitals.
Grace's Quest: To Catch An Art Thief is a mostly traditional hidden object game transporting you from scene to scene while finding objects and playing mini-games. Gameplay is supported by brief animated cut scenes which unfurl the story as you go. The hidden object sequences are pretty standard, giving you a list of objects that need be found in order to proceed. One discovery leads to another, and this list continues to grow as your findings do, frequently adding additional items to find just as you hear the level's swan songs.
Adding to the hidden object sequences, Grace's Quest also emphasizes puzzle and mini-game moments. There is at least one for each section, and, often enough, several. Some mini-games require nothing but a few clicks to pop a balloon or cut through rope, while others have more depth to them, such as employing an x-ray scanner to go through bags or searching for fingerprints with a magnifying glass. All of these can be skipped if you wish though, but you need to wait a while before you give in.
