In GunRun the player does exactly what the title implies, gunning things down while running. The player must shoot the robots on screen either flying or travelling on the ground with their machine gun. The objective is to kill enemies and collect as much ?$? as possible to get points. To do this the player must gun down the ever increasing number, power, and speed of the enemies. If they run in to the enemy or hit by its bullets, they will lose a life.
The player controls the character on screen by the ?A? and ?D? keys and jumps (or double jumps) with ether the space bar or ?W? key. The gun is controlled by the mouse by simply clicking on where the player wants to shoot up to the maximum 45 degree angle. The screen scrolls along at a constant pace to always keep the player in the action. At set points the game will advance a level and, without stopping the action, will introduce more powerful enemy or enemies. Occasionally a bonus level with ?$? but no enemies will give the player a rest however, this is made up by the boss once every 20 levels. To help the player there are several power-ups like Life (collect 3 to increase the max life), Gun power-ups (collect 5 to add a level to the gun), Star (clears the screen of enemies), Invincibility (for a limited time), and Rage (Invincibility, super powerful machine gun, and a level speed up for a limited time) that can be collected by grabbing them as they appear on screen. There is no end to the game; the player just plays till death.
