Insect Invade II is an action game where the player controls a naked man who is trying to defend himself from an onslaught of purple, tentacled monsters that are falling from the sky. The man can walk left and right and jump with arrow keys, and his weapon is a machine gun, aimed and fired with the mouse; he can also shoot grenades. Power-ups appear occasionally from slain enemies; after collecting, they remain active for a few seconds. The power-ups include better weapons, "weak enemies" that makes the monsters die in one hit, and "grenade craze" which allows the player to shoot grenades faster.

Killing a monster while it's in mid-air with certain weapons increases the longevity of current power-ups. A contact with a monster kills the hero instantly, and there is not set goal to the game other than racking up as many kills as possible. [source:mobygames]
