Jam XM is an arcade racing game that first looks like a Micro Machines clone.

You take part in an intergalactic racing tournament, win races but also destroy rivals. The tracks show bonuses you can collect, such as the Freeze bonus which freezes your opponents for some time, or the Thorns bonus which empowers your car with sharp thorns that will heavily damage other cars on contact.

Between championships you can upgrade your car, for example, with the Retainer device, which allows your car to neglect drifting for some time or the Subzero device, which freezes the road ahead of you so all the nasty liquids will have no effect on your car for some time.

Each time you finish a lap, your weaponry is filled with ammos and you must finish a race at last third to unlock upgrades.
