Jessica Plunkenstein is an average teenage girl who disagrees with her parents about how her life should be. In an attempt to make her "normal", they ship her off to a reform school against her will. Also at the airport is Secret Agent Harrison J. Harris on his way to the Amazon jungle. His assignment: to foil the plans of his nemesis, the diabolical Baron von Düsseldorf. In a bizarre twist of fate, Jessica and Harrison's plane tickets get switched; she boards Amazon Air bound for the jungle and he on DespAir to the school. Soon, Jessica arrives in the Amazon and will impersonate herself as the spy and try to complete his mission.
You'll guide Jessica through her madcap adventure in 3rd person perspective. The story line is whimsical and filled with "tongue-in-cheek" humor and comical quips. She'll explore 50 unusual locations in addition to the Amazon rainforests including an amusement park with a llama theme, the Norwegian Alps and its yodeling contests, and the cave of a murderous yeti. Talk to a variety of unique characters (all professionally voiced), collect various objects and use them to solve inventory-based puzzles.
This AGS game was created by a group of Yale University students as their Computer Science senior project. It features a full musical score, voice acting and sound effects, and simplistic graphics and cut scenes. Some character graphics from the Reality-of-the-Norm project are incorporated into this game.
The game is divided into four chapters. Gameplay is point and click with cursors for different actions as well as keyboard shortcuts for saving and restoring games, displaying inventory etc. It is necessary to right and left click with the mouse to perform actions or change cursors. Some items Jessica collects can be combined within the inventory window, and saved games are named by the player.
