Jinkō Gakuen A simulation game similar in concept to Artificial Girl games, though with a noticeably more complex gameplay. The game is set in a school, which includes locations such as classrooms, yards, a tennis court, a gym, etc. The player can populate this environment with up to twenty-five characters (male or female) of his or her own creation. The character editor allows customization of a cel-shaded 3D model with facial and body features, personality types, sexual orientation, likes and dislikes, etc. Once placed in the game world, these characters will follow their own routines, which depend on their preferences.

The player can then assume the role of either male or female character in attempt to build up a relationship with any of these characters. There is no physical navigation in the game; instead, the player selects a character from a list and follows this character through various locations represented with still pre-rendered backgrounds. Having established contact, the player can select a wide variety of topics, suggestions and activities. For example, it is possible to attempt to engage in the character's preferred activity together, walk him or her home, study together, console or cheer up an angry or sad character, reveal romantic intentions towards the person, and so on.
