The wandering sexually obsessed knight Rance is leading a group of bandits in the rural nation of Helman, raiding cities and amassing wealth. However, his band is crushed by the imperial army, and he is forced to flee to the neighboring country Leazas. There, he marries the local princess, becomes the King of Leazas, and leads an army against Helman in an attempt to avenge his humiliation and rescue his long-time companion and slave Sill.
Kichiku? Rance is a side-story in the Rance series, its events taking place after those described in Rance 4.2: Angel-gumi. Departing from the RPG template of the series, it is primarily a turn-based strategy game with role-playing elements such as leveling up of characters. The gameplay mostly takes place on the main map, where the player selects towns and other locations to advance the army to. The player selects generals and sends them to conquer towns, advancing the plot and strengthening the army.
The battles are semi-automatic; there is no tactical positioning or player-controlled movement. Battle against the defending town must be resolved in five turns, otherwise the defender will be declared victor. The player must assign combinations of melee, ranged, and magic attacks to the troops, as well as use the generals' special moves to emerge victorious. It is also possible to romance the female generals via a special "Harem" menu.
