The mobile game The King of Fighters is based on the SNK beat-em-up series of the same name that debuted on the Neo Geo in the nineties. There are four characters to play with, all taken from existing games: Kyo, Athena, Mai and Terry. Only two characters are available in the beginning, the remaining needed to be unlocked by winning matches. After completing the game with all four characters, the Double mode is unlocked, where teams of two fighters play tag matches. Each character has its own backdrop and a character needs to win two fights to complete a match.

There are only a few keys for movement (including crouching and jumping), blocking and punching, along with a few combos and special moves that require a quick key combination. By hitting the opponent, a bar at the bottom of the screen can be filled up to three times. A full bar grants a super, a devastating move that damages opponents badly. [source:mobygames]
