Lost in the Static is at its core a simple 2D platform game. Your character doesn't have any special moves or weapons, your only ability is to jump to avoid any enemies that you encounter.
The interesting part of this game is it's graphics and sound, both of which consist of static. You won't be able to see anything on the screenshots, you can only see the game while playing. The basic mechanic for this visual experience is the following: the background is a randomly generated image of static which moves constantly in a certain direction. The foreground is also an image of static but it's still (indicating the whole terrain of the game), or it's moving in a different direction (indicating an enemy). [source:mobygames]
