Game Classification

Lotus is a puzzle game, where the player must click on pairs of identical lotus flowers floating on a pond. A line of lotus flowers with multicolored petals keeps moving on a dotted track towards a whirlpool. The line moves back a little each time a pair is removed. The objective is to remove all the matching pairs of lotus. If several flowers fall inside the whirlpool, the game is over.

Power-ups appear randomly on the line, between two flowers that need to be removed to activate them. They have special powers that move the flowers backwards, shuffle their position, give extra lives or a hint showing one of the matching pairs.

Special flowers appear as well. The white lotus assumes the colors of any selected flower. The rainbow lotus can match any other flower. The closed lotus can only be opened, allowing its removal, by eliminating the flowers on each side of it.

Dragonflies appear on the pond, each with a different color and power. The blue dragonfly makes the line move slower. The green one doubles the points received. The orange one removes random flowers. The purple dragonfly pushes the line back.

In the arcade mode, unlocked after playing the main adventure mode, there are no levels, the flowers keep appearing and the goal is to survive as long as possible to achieve a high score. [source:mobygames]
