Statistics for a virtual champion are randomly generated based on the value of the characters in the player's username. Customizing the appearance of the avatar, the player is then free to pit their champion against those of others; selecting from a range of potential opponents presented (or others specifically sought out) is the game's only interactive element, as the arena combats are entirely automated, an animated series of "I punch you, then you punch me" exchanges, their outcome only very abstractly related to the champion's statistics. Experience points are amassed, slowly through lost bouts and more quickly through won bouts, leading to level advancement and with it gradual stat boosting and random acquisition of combat-enhancing weapons and pets.
The number of potential bouts in a given 24-hour period is limited to three. The game also features strong incentives to recruit their friends through a referral system.
