Oasis Ostinato is a rhythm-based defend-your-castle-style of game set in a garden. At dusk, the player needs to defend a tree against different kinds of animals until daylight breaks. This is done by planting flowers around the tree. The player simply needs to point and click where to plant one. This cannot be done at any time, to plant a flower the player needs to match the beat of the procedurally generated music. If the beat is missed, clicking yields no result. When animals are able to touch the tree, it will lose leaves until it is completely dead. If the tree is guarded well, the tree will provide fruit that provides additional effects, such as the ability to plant multiple flowers or to have them all bloom at once. Flowers do no last forever. They die after a certain amount of time or when touched by an animal. The difficulty level automatically adapts to the player's skill level, based on the amount of flowers planted and the state of the tree. The right mouse button is used to rotate the camera in a circular motion around the tree. The game was developed by students of the DigiPen Institute.
