Odd Box is a 3D puzzle game where the main objective is to move cubes marked with various patterns on a pile, rearranging them in matching groups to make several of the same type disappear. Additional boxes keep falling from above, quickly increasing the height of the structure. If the crates reach the top, a countdown starts where the player has only a few seconds to lower them, otherwise the game is over. The graphics are rendered in grayscale most of the time, briefly displaying colors after several combo points.
There's a choice of three difficulty levels at the start, changing the number between four to six cubes necessary to make a match. All the actions are performed by pressing and holding down buttons, dragging the boxes to any available space with the primary button, and rotating the whole pile on its axis with a secondary button. Dark crates without symbols are obstacles that can't be moved. The cubes move within the confines of the base, only sliding towards unblocked sides and slowly falling inside niches until reaching the bottom.
