Pacific Warriors II: Dogfight is an arcade combat flight simulation set in the Pacific campaign during World War II. The player can choose between a variety of WWII-era fight and bomber planes on both the US and Japanese side.
In total, there are 25 missions in the campaign for each side. After the mission briefing, the player is taken to an upgrade screen, where they can buy various enhancements for their planes, ranging from weapon upgrades to increased speed and better handling. Upgrades are paid for by stars and stars in turn are awarded for successful missions. The amount the player gets depends on the difficulty of each mission.
During most missions, it is possible to switch the aircraft type by landing on specific airfields. Taking off and landing is an automatic process, the player only has to fly through a series of guidance rings. The missions usually centre around destroying or protecting a certain amount of units.
