This version of Paperboy is a remake of the original Atari-game of the same name. The player still takes on the role of the paperboy who has to deliver papers to his customers while inflicting as much damage as possible to the houses of his non-customers. To make things more difficult, numerous obstacles get in his way including construction workers, rogue tires, skateboarders, dogs and cats and more. If the player hits one of these he immediately looses one life. If all lives have been lost or the player has lost all his customers by not delivering a paper or destroying their property, the game ends. Additional lives are added when the player earns enough points. Points are earned depending on where the newspaper lands. If the player hits the mailbox of a customer, he gets more points than hitting the doormat. Houses of non-customers on the other hand give points when windows break or the player drives over the priceless flowers in the yard. At the end of each day, a training course awaits for additional points.
New in this version are the enhanced graphics in the classic isometric view and the optional 3D-view as well as three new game-modes. Besides the classic-mode where everything plays exactly as the original, there's the somewhat easier casual-mode. Here points and such can also be earned by collecting cards scattered on the ground. The other modes are time-attack, finish the day as fast as possible, and the challenge-mode where the player has to fulfill certain objectives during his workday.
