Paper Moon is a short side-scrolling platformer entirely done in black and white, and with the graphical style of a cardboard cutout pop-up book. Originally created for the Gamma3D competition by the Infinite Ammo team and Adam Saltsman, this version was entirely reworked by Flashbang Studios.
As with all Flashbang games, players only have a limited amount of time to complete the game, here only five minutes. The player needs to guide a character through a world with branching paths. He can grab fruit to build up points, locate time bonuses that extend the time and uncover checkpoints to save progress. Most of the puzzles revolve around the pop-up mechanic. Pressing the space bar causes elements in the environment to pop up or fade away. This technique is used to create platforms, clear enemies and remove barriers.
The game is fully integrated with the Blurst service, offering achievements and leaderboards.
