Parking Wars is a social game created to promote the A&E reality television program of the same name. Unlike the program, which focused on the employees of the Philadelphia Parking Authority as they ticketed, booted, and impounded vehicles, the game has the player taking on the roles of both sides, with game play that involves parking their own cars and ticketing other players.
Each player is given a street with five parking spaces; they may choose the background of their own street. The player is automatically connected with their friends who also play the game, as well as with two "random" neighbors. Each player has one or more vehicles that they may park on other players' streets, and the longer the car sits in that spot, the more money it earns until it reaches the maximum amount ($5,560). Parking spaces may be unmarked, or they may have random restrictions placed on them indicated with a sign. Some spaces are limited to cars of a certain color ("red cars only" or "black cars only") while most will say "No Parking." Players can still park in these spaces, but doing so with a car that doesn't meet the conditions leaves them vulnerable to being towed. If the owner of the street logs in while the car is still parked in an illegal space, they may choose to "tow" the car, which means the spot owner gets all the money earned and the car owner loses the money.
Players earn new cars as progress in the game; after six cars they must then "buy" new cars with the money they've won, and some cars have special attributes that can benefit game play. Limousines can take up two spots and earn twice the money, ice cream trucks double the value of all cars (all players) parked on the street, the RV has a higher maximum value, and the tow trucks lets the player tow cars parked on other players' streets.
