Pathstorm is a puzzle game where the player has to uncover tiles by discovering hidden objects underneath them. The game field is a grid, and clicking the available arrows at the edges shoots a ball from a cave to an exit hole. The ball trajectory is covered by the tiles, and the position of obstacles can be deducted by audio and visual clues. After all the objects of a path have been found, the tiles on the ball's way are uncovered.
These objects include oblique and straight bouncers that deflect the ball at 90º and 180º degrees angles, splitters that multiply the ball into three, shifters and twirlers that shift and deflect the sphere clockwise or counterclockwise. The red versions of these objects are called scramblers, their orientation may or may not be the correct one to guide the ball to an exit.
There are three modes:
In Journey Mode, there are four level tracks on a worn map, arranged by difficulty (Junior, Novice, Intermediate and Expert). The map gets more colorful after finishing a level and a trophy is awarded with the successful completion of a track.
In Challenge Mode, all the levels have a limit of time and a number of mistakes allowed.
In Puzzle Mode, the levels are randomly created, and there's no time limit.
The game comes with a level editor, and new levels can be downloaded from the developer's website.
