Pro Angler is a real-time fishing simulation. Why real-time? Because it doesn't simulate only the fishing process but the realistic waiting times also. But let's start from the beginning: after choosing the location, the player sits in his boat and needs to find a suitable location with the assistance of his sonar. Then he chooses the hook, bait and thickness of the string, throws the combination into the water and waits.

A unique aspect of the game is that the player doesn't need to have the game active while waiting. He can minimize it to do other things and it sounds an alarm if a fish bites. When he manages to pull it out of the water the game informs him of the fish stats and the player begins to prepare for his next fish. If he gets enough fish in one sitting he unlocks more of the 28 locations. Overall the game features 50 German fish species. There are no championships to participate in. [source:mobygames]
