A NYPD detective called Erica is assigned to the investigation of a series of murders by the "Poet Killer", a criminal that leaves notes with short verses on the crime scenes.

Like its predecessor, Righteous Kill 2: Revenge of the Poet Killer is a hidden object game loosely based on a movie license. Most of the time, the objective is to collect all the objects listed at the left side of the screen, on locations depicting crime scenes and other places that take part of a police procedure. A badge at the top of the list serves as the hint button, highlighting the position of one of the required items when clicked, but taking some time to recharge after use. Some of the objects are stored in the inventory to be used later, to solve puzzles by dragging and dropping them on logical places on the screen.

The cursor changes to a magnifying glass when hovering over certain parts of the scenery, opening a interactive window showing another viewing angle of the location. They usually contain some of the list items, and inventory objects can be used on them as well.

Some of the puzzles take place on a separate screen, where the player must dust the collected evidence to gather fingerprints, reassemble a shredded receipt, click on the differences between several security camera images and perform other similar tasks. [source:mobygames]
